There are simply too many vtubers now. Nobody is going to hit 2020 numbers ever again unless some sort of divine intervention creates the perfect storm. The only thing that's come close in recent memory is Rin from Idol-EN and I think it's just cause she fit a specific niche that didn't exist until her debut which is the extremely crass British woman. Especially in the corpo scene it's hard to stand out, why watch Aster when there are 30+ other people in your same company?
This is actually where indies have the advantage these days because they can stream without much regulation and can play that Pokemon romhack without worry and can say gamer words without anything bad happening to them. Expecting the new Niji heroes to do Luxiem levels is foolish at best.
