Allied propaganda in WW2 initially claimed that all 22 concentration camps in German territory were "death camps".
All of the camps on the American side were inspected and found to have zero genocidal facilities whatsoever. Only the 6 camps on the Soviet side were maintained to be "gas chambers". Of course after the Berlin Wall came down, they made it illegal to perform inspections of the camps. The so-called "death camps" were heavily modified by the soviets who modified structures to make them look like genocidal facilities.
Case in point the supposed "death camp" of Majdanek used to claim a death toll of 2 million dead, and 7 supposed "extermination rooms". But over time this number was reduced by 95%, to a measly 50,000 claimed dead and only 2 supposed "extermination rooms". There are embarrassing rooms at Majdanek which the soviets modified to look like death chambers which today no official historian defends.
As for the eyewitnesses? There are many eyewitnesses to the camps, because they existed. But the number of eyewitnesses to supposed genocide? You can literally count them on your hand. They're all lying. Their stories are ridiculous and fraught with impossibilities and historic innaccuracies. One of the most famous by the name of Elie Wiesel wasn't even at Auschwitz, he was picked up at a completely different camp and lied for years.
