8 months ago a bunch of twitch streamers tried to set up a “streamer awards”, a circlejerk of twitch culture. They had a popularity contest to vote for nominees in 27 categories, including one for vtubers. VShojo of course would vote for them as well as other members of the group, and apparently no one else heard of the pre-poll - and so they ran away with it. The panel could nominate one other person - it is believed they chose CodeMiko. This is why the streamer awards has 3 Vshojo and codemiko, almost 8 months ago. Pic-related from that old awards.
Cut to later, a bored man is trying to work out a good list for these fancy awards in a niche category no one gives a shit about - we’re all about funnelling awards in other categories to MrBeast, as is tradition. So, they stumble across this recent-ish “poll of streamers across YouTube and twitter”, politely yank it, and then add a random other person to it from twitch to cement in that it’s original. And bang, new category to be added and no one will care because he’s just the guy vetting these awards.
