>>51962950With dialogue, you have to think carefully about what the characters will say. You can't use synonyms, you have to do it exactly as the character would say it otherwise it sounds off. Meanwhile for narrating, you can often just turn your brain off and write whatever comes to mind, and it won't matter at all. I haven't had a single brain off moment in all 11k words of this fic, since the narration is also technically dialogue because of the POV it is written in. Of course it isn't as intricate as the dialogue itself, but I still have to tread carefully. At the very least the fic is turning out ok, or I hope it is.
