>>51152427You can do it, Pomie!
>>51152589Briskadet, you'll manage it someday. I used to be the most shy, shut-in kid around. I never left the house besides for school, and had no friends. I learned to adapt because my parents left me alone my entire childhood. I didn't even live with either of them as a teenager through early college. You can muster the courage to do it, but you have to stop being so negative and actually try. I'm saying it the tough way because it's what I needed to break out of my shell too. I hope you figure it out! Good luck!
>>51152671You're welcome! There's anons here in Australia who want to go to cons. You'll definitely feel nerves at first but you'll find just having something you can talk about with someone breaks the ice, and before you know it you'll be talking about all sorts of things! The nice thing with cons is they're public spaces so you don't have to worry about people being dangerous or too creepy. Most people are just happy to share in the hobby!
>>51152698You can start with that, or something like "Hey, I noticed your a fan of Sonny too!" If they're not dismissive of you, you can lead on with something like "I'm looking to find other fans to talk about him with, would you be cool with that?" Friendly people will be happy to, people who want to stay in their own lane will probably just say no and you move on. If they're happy to, you can start talking about your favorite streams or moments, like "Did you catch when he did that in the last BotW stream?" You can gush a little, and people who are fans will also gush back. Before you know it you'll both be talking about your hobby like nothing. Anyone you hit off with, ask for their socials before you have to part ways. Not everyone is going to keep in contact but there will definitely be some who were happy to make new friends. Navigating a friendship after that will take time and experience, gotta learn what boundaries a person is comfortable with, and every person is different. Just remember that most people are at a con because they love the thing you love too, and it's a social space so there's often receptive people around. Good luck!
