In the land of books and pens and pages,
There lived some authors of many ages.
They wrote of love and adventure too,
Of monsters and magic and things that grew.
But when the night began to creep,
And the stars above began to peep,
The authors knew it was time to rest,
To close their books and take a rest.
So they gathered round, in a circle so neat,
And whispered words, soft and sweet.
They said goodnight, to one another,
And wished their dreams, to find each other.
"Goodnight, dear author, sleep well and tight,
May your dreams be filled with stories tonight."
"Goodnight, my friend, may your mind be bright,
With tales of wonder, until the morning light."
But as they closed their eyes to sleep,
A sudden noise, did cause them to peep.
One author yelled, "CLEAR" with all their might,
While the other yelled, "BUTT" with all their sight.
And so they laughed, until they cried,
At the silly sounds, that echoed inside.
For even in rest, the authors found joy,
In the simple sounds, that they employ.
So goodnight, dear authors, sleep tight and well,
And may your dreams, be filled with tales to tell.
And when the morning comes, and the sun does shine,
May you pick up your pens, and continue the line.
