i see it as a posting style more than anything
the streamer being sheep/adjacent feels like a bonus more than a requirement
and because anchoring posts or even posting about streams are not common practises on this board, recruiting from other threads doesn't really work and you end up with a lot of people keeping an eye on /wool/ because it's great to catch up with a stream that's currently live or you missed but unless it's to bump the thread, barely anyone posts because it's too much effort or something
