The girls don't need to shill for the boys, or even talk to them, but they shouldn't be creating the lamest rendition of The Scarlet Letter either.
If even that's asking just too much, then they just shouldn't bother visibly reacting to Holofest at all. It's not exactly hard to just say, "our sempais are working really hard on the expo," and leave things at that when asked.
