It's interesting to think of the way someone might perceive a main character because of internal monologuing like this. The writers have to find a way to make a character in that world more fleshed out and interesting, be multifaceted, and show strengths and weaknesses. Instantly you think 'Man, this MC is an asshole for thinking something so bluntly like this', but at the core, this is the writers attempt to make Yuki more interesting and not supposed to make the MC look bad.
