>>31758780>We wanted a name that worked that wasnt kagainikiTotally understandable. But you'll probably want to choose one that doesn't have the exact opposite meaning of the way it's being used...unless you really are going with the idea of your citizens not knowing their own language very well. Could be interesting, actually. Perhaps IRL Japanese is a bit of a dead language for your culture? You could trace it back to /jp/ times and perhaps in the split over to /vt/ a lot of the language's actual meaning was lost and warped, resulting in Tsukinode's use of it being a little strange.
> Well you see he just yanked them off wikipedia and it looks nice to meThe map does look nice, and I did say I assumed he just grabbed IRL names again. It just looks weird as hell to someone who actually understand Japanese since, as I said, Japanese locales are named after local landmarks and no attention was paid to that here in plopping down the names. Again, perfectly fine if you don't care about how goofy it all sounds. But I do strongly advocate for considering these "placeholder" names and allowing future writers to name their towns as they please because, again, most people are probably going to want to make their town names references to their chuubas in some way.
