HEVC x265 encodes for 1080p are pretty popular. You'll need to pause an episode an inspect a frame VERY closely to find noticeable differences with the 1gb episodes.

Either way, it SHOULD be possible to re-encode 12gb 1080p vtuber streams into 3-4gb, the issue is which parameters to use so it won't look bad.
