So I've been holding off from telling this story for a while now. But enough time has passed so it's safe to tell.
I was at a Korean grocer when I saw three girls browsing the instant noodles section. I thought one of them sounded familiar so I approached the group. I caught her eye as I hovered into her peripheral.
>"Excuse me, do I know you from somewhere?"
>p: "Uhh, no?"
She covered her mouth with her sleeved hand as she giggled. I can see her turning red in real-time.
At that moment I knew it was her. She doesn't put on the voice like how she'd do on-stream, but the way she says "uhh" is exactly the same. Plus, of the three girls it's only she who responded, which makes her suspicious.
I didn't want to be overtly obvious because chances are, even her friends didn't know. I didn't even bring up the name on the off-chance that someone nearby could be eavesdropping.
>"My bad, I thought I recognized your voice. Are you... the penguin?"
To which she gasped.
>p:"I don't know, what if I am?"
She continues giggling harder. Her face is like a tomato now, it looks like she's going to burst out laughing at any moment now. I thought I should keep this short, as I just wanted to say hi.
>"Ah well, I'm a... a penfriend. That's all, have a nice day!"
>p: "I-I see... Thank you for- thank you for the support. You have a nice day too!"
The way she said the last phrase is 100% her, with the soft voice and all.
She was smiling really widely. It's probably the first time this has happened to her. As I walked away I hear her friend saying "Well that was weird, do you know each other??"
I went about my own business and that's where the story ends.
I thought it was a really cute encounter. She seems like a really nice and funny person. I'm not even a pentomo but I probably said it because I'm face-to-face with the real one...
