The most expensive meals I had in Japan were a ¥2500 eel bowl, that ¥2400 huge thick katsudon Kiara featured, and a ¥2200 for like 13 plates of sushi and a beer. Other than that I don't think I paid more than ¥1800 for a fully loaded plate of curry, rice, katsu, and mincemeat fried patty, so that's like $12 bucks.
Now I'm just hoping the exchange rate stays good...
