>>96778296Multiplayer implementation is jankier than it has been in previous series. All the environments are some shade of grey or brown. Seriously every time I've jumped into a stream every area has looked the same. There is literally no reason to explore ever. All the nodes are revealed to you from the get go, your dinosaur autopilots movement for you, and you never have to actually track the monster. That was a main complaint for Rise too but even Rise didn't initially mark every material on the map for you. Capcom should just chuck you into an Arena every time you go on a "hunt" at this point. Decorations being armor/weapon specific is a pointless limitation that only hampers build variety. Wounding is a flawed mechanic, lifted from an already flawed Clutch Claw, that completely annihilates game balance. The game is so easy that hunting the monster is the equivalent of fighting a crying baby, wounds make this issue more apparent. New Monster designs are extremely lackluster, seriously what's that flat looking snake thing? The re-usage of skeletons has gone from unfortunate to egregious rendering monster variety lower than it was for other base games except maybe the earliest ones. Good features from previous games that instead of being kept were overhauled and ended up worse or poorly merged with existing systems. Namely food and Switch Skills although decorations also fall into this category now too I guess. Also giving your main character a voice is the equivalent of giving one to Doomguy or Gordon Freeman. The Hunter should not have a readily apparent personality or character because YOU are the hunter. Since the series' inception it was always YOU not some retard you spent dressing up. Even then, even without the voice the self-insert wasn't necessary. It's a pointless edition that detracts from the experiences of many for the sake of an already pointless story. My god the story. You already mentioned the cutscenes. Everybody preaching to you about how important this Wyvern cum is and how sacred life is and this little brown boy is key to the story I guess. There's no major event like Zora Magdaros, no cool Dragonator moment, the dialogue is patronizing and everybody preaches or treats you like a retard, and there's no memorable characters. It can all be finished in less in 10 hours with an ending so anticlimactic I expected a second set of credits. This is completely ignoring the smaller more "sovful" addition like the chef cats or cute little animation flares previous games had that no longer exist.
Anyway... yeah... Phase Connect.
I'm so sorry.
