>libraries vs barnes and noble
I forgot to mention one huge benefit of libraries, they have old books whereas bn dont except for classics. One time I wanted to see if I liked murder mystery novels so I checked out THE murder mystery writer agatha Christie. A buch of her books were at the library and only tje big ones at bn. I can confidently say I dont like murder mystery but maybe you guy will.
>mass market paperback
Theres a subgenre of paperback format known as mass market. Basically its for popular books that are printed in smaller physical size and sold for cheaper. There's nothing wrong with purchasing these types of books with the exception that sometimes the font is tiny as well. What the heck are they thinking making rhe font so small, I feel like I need a loupe to read them. If the font were normal size theyd be fine. Open it and check if you like the font size.
>writing tenses
Okay the basic gestalt when it comes to novels is that third person past tense is the best way to write a novel. But let me give you the basic gestalt of the others
>1
First person. This has become wildly popular in the last decade because of women. They like reading first person for some reason. It's generally in YA and romance novels. Its all in first person. Why? Why cant you just read in third person and be normal?
>2
This is for manuals on how to build stuff. You put this here. Insert this there. You do this and that etc. Not for novels unless you're a madman experimental writer. All me.
>3
The king of writing tenses. Undefeated all time. The greatest novels in history are third person and its the only writing manner that makes logical sense. You can write great stuff in first person but third person is better. Its said that first person is like playing an instrument. But just one. It can be amazing but its just one instrument. Third person is like an orchestra, its just better.
>past tense
Past tense along with third person are the king of writing. Undisputed and will always be that way.
>present tense
Present tense along with first person is what women apparently decided to make their favorite way to read. Why? All YA and romance are written in first person present tense. Why? I actually know why but for another time. I'm going to boke just thinking about first person present tense. Nah its cool read what you like
>future tense
I've never seen this ever. I don't even want to think about it.
>poetry
They say that brevity is the soul of wit. Or the wit of soul. Basically the less words you have to write with the more genious you need to be. This is why poets are the greatest writers. Great poets that is. It can achieve the highest highs, to tell a complete succinct story in a few lines. But it can also achieve the lowest lows if people don't know what theyre doing. Theres some jeet chick that is hailed as a great poet in the industry but she sucks hard. I forget her name. Its the emperors new clothes moment happening i'm pretty sure.
>romance
The most difficult genre to write in if youre a man. You need a soul and passion. You need to know women inside and out. Or you can be a women and write about what you're into. I actually thought about writing a romance novel for you guys to read. I might still do it.
>good job
Anyway good job! I know you did your best today so keep at it! I'm proud of you, smile and laugh always. Yeah you. Im going to keep saying yeah you and it's going to enter into your vernacular. You're going to start saying it before you know it. It's going to be so funny. Anyway
