I felt that if I got a new cat to accompany her and also let me cope once the old one dies, so I got a new cat from a shelter, and the moment my old cat saw the new girl, she changed her mind about dying and started fighting with the new one for food.
That fight lasted 7 years, until my old cat's death at the age of 18.
