A blacksmith gives the earth the greatest blessing it could possibly ever have - a purpose. Through the heat of the forge and the might of the hammer the earth is worked into something useful, something with meaning, the act of creation in itself. A gem cannot achieve its truest beauty without a cutter to polish it and to place it within a frame for it to shine brightly. In turn, without the earth, the blacksmith is nothing. They require it in order to have their own purpose.
They complete each other in the purest sense of the word.
