If it helps with the DMs, people love hearing from you. In any given situation, people will like it if you reach out (especially after being sent something) unless there's something affecting them.
Your overlay isn't bad, but it's generic. I think you grabbed it off twitter, right? You tend to default to your room more, which I think people like, since it is more 'you'. You should consider making or otherwise acquiring an overlay that is also 'you' - perhaps taking inspiration from the color palette of the cadet and the shapeshifting, technical nature of that pokemon that is also a phone? A cadet themed overlay, I know you don't use (many) alerts, and alerts would be cute and thematic.
If by retro mouse you mean picrel, I think you're there or close in terms of mechanical polish (transitions, hold screens, format, shilling your socials and stuff). To fill what's missing takes confidence and consistency (you nailed it).
