If it's near impossible to move around the leaderboard or get rid of a whole bunch of coins, the game gets very boring very quickly. That was the problem with inflation, it wasn't the big numbers. It was the lack of ability to respond effectively to market changes or to change your playstyle just out of choice. You had too many coins and the market moved too little (because you could only sell/buy so many).
Yes, I am going to continue to shill massive (and scaling) multibuys, with similar multisells that have a lower tax.
