When I want to post one, I just go to one of the big folders and type a partial filename or tag and the Gnome file picker instantly filters what i wanted
My archives are usually 3-4 years until I change my OS or have a failure and start from scratch. I back them up, but don't bother merging them, I treat them like separate eras
