>>17285562I believe YGO is most interesting when you can exploit bizarre combo cards. See
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXiRouYdDJ0 for an example of a deck that uses a dozen useless cards in nine different 100-step combos to FTK the opponent.
However, this also means non-gimmick decks also have a wide variety of literal 1-card power cards and combos that bring out a full field of negation and disruptions. Grind game formats are rarer and incredibly fragile, especially because of how many power cards now exist (Zeus, Evenly, Nibiru, etc).
It's an infinitely faster game than MTG/Hearthstone/etc, because it's more of a deckbuilding exercise than an actual card game. With that said, Master Duel only just came out so nobody has the best cards.
With that said, I'm almost certain some glue eater will say "play a plant deck" without realizing that all of the ones that aren't unplayable are sweaty combo decks.
>plant decksAromage (bad)
Predaplant (complicated)
Rikka (probably fine)
Sunavalon (complicated)
Sylvan (complicated and bad)
Traptrix (Susan will probably demonetize you)
>decks that beginners won't mess upABC
Invoked without that extra IDS shit
Sky Striker
I saw someone in the prechat suggesting Dark Magician, fuck that shitty cope deck that boardwipes itself and relies on a hundred cards to grant protection.
