>>90115332being empathetic doesn't mean 'paying attention to a person' it means you can intuitively understand another person's mental state and feel their emotions like happiness and pain i.e. when you see someone smiling and joking in conversation with you you understand that they are happy and feel happy yourself or if they look disappointed and sad you can tell this purely from the way they look and feel their sadness
an actual autist is incapable of doing this and other people's reactions, feelings and behaviors are a total mystery to them without extensive training and practice
it is impossible for autists to be 'too empathetic' what you are describing isn't being overly empathetic it's just being overly attentive
I personally believe that Mumei is autistic based not just on her mannerisms but also how she doesn't really reciprocate people's feelings and behavior in collabs and always seems to be in the same mood when interacting with people, regardless of how they feel
a good example of Mumei's autism is when, during the Twilight watchalongs, while Nerissa was fangirling about Twilight and trying to convince the group that it actually is good somehow, unlike the other members like Fauna who tried to accomodate Nerissa by being agreeable with her and trying to look for the good in the films, Mumei just continued to mock and shit on the films until the very end, seemingly unaware or unconcerned with Nerissa's goal or the group dynamic
likewise, when Mumei was vocally frustrated with the group 'not roleplaying correctly' in the Wolf Quest collab
it's not just the quirky mannerisms and information she's related like childhood stories or not talking to people irl for days that are tells of Mumei having autism - it's also this lacking normal empathy component that is apparent in collabs
