Of course people in this site or vtuber adjacent sites can say every single Holo by name, branch, gen and year of debut but that's not the regular audience.
I assume most people here remember when they didn't even knew there was this thing called "Hololive" (or "Nijisanji" if that's the case) and only knew about the existence of the one streamer they watched.
The "meta" gets numbers because people wants to watch *their* favorite playing such and such game, regardless of how many other people have played it. It doesn't matter that 20 other chuubas played that game with the menhera vtuber, it will still bring numbers for the subsequent ones because *their* audience wants to watch it.
And Koyori is not even a good example, she's one with the most variety on her choice of streams, accusing her of "just doing the same" is silly
