Proper dating sims are pretty short, because they want you to keep replaying and try for different routes. JRPGs are meant to be long often taking 75+ hours to complete. No way you'll ever want to try for a different route, because of the time investment.
On paper, the idea of playing a game that's 2 things you really like is cool. But then it gets annoying when both things get in the way of eachother. Like I wanna be invested in dating this character but then I have to do these mandatory RPG segments, of I get invested in the RPG but then its mandatory dating sim shenanigans time.
A proper hybrid game should only include 10% of one genre, like how Utawarerumono is a visual novel that is sometimes a strategy game and it works perfectly, Even FE13-14, as much as they try to emphasize the waifu/husbando bait, is only 10% dating sim.
