Since she said it was a hole in the heart, it could've been a ASD or VSD. Those are generally treated at birth.Catheter procedures are more common place and easier on the patient. But open-heart surgery is still used incase they can't use catheters. There's always ongoing care and that's why she was caged up in the hospital for a few years as well. The (yearly?) checkups she has with her doc is also a normal thing too. The fact that she's had such a active childhood and still is full of energy is good sign.
