>>97409257>>97409261>>97409320Alright, get ready for my analysis of the match and some insights about testing etc., obviously had to check the next opponent first.
I spent a week testing every possible tactical approach and nothing worked. In testing, we lost the 1st 8 or 9 matches all by 0-5, 0-6, 0-7.
/HiRyS/' players are all increased in weight, their whole team is built to demolish, they press extremely hard, all of their DMFs are Destroyers and their defense is just stacked with bodies. Basically, having a brick wall in def, medals that roam the whole pitch to attack players and playing fast counters. I eventually found something which would boil down to a coin toss at least and that's the tactical approach I went for.
Keeping steady, prevent them from finding lanes, playing that one fast pass on the counter and getting them down by tackling them with multiple players and forcing them to shoot from bad positions. As you saw, they did find lanes and later on those shots from bad positions still went in.
They would press right at our box, they would instantly dispossess us if we held the ball for just a bit too long and they would shut down everything if we played short passes. Therefore, the only way was to play over that wall. This obviously didn't work. We did still attack them, we had 10 tackles after all, but none of them led to anything.
It was expected that they would attack hard in the first half and somewhat lose steam in the 2nd which would have been when space opens up so that long passes at the box could find FGM and Chocomint. Instead, we were the ones who ran out of steam and all they tried was to get the ball away temporarily.
It was expected that this match would have went 2-1, could go either direction, I last played 7 test matches and 5 ended 2-1 with 2 ending 3-1, one side getting a 3-1 each.
It was obviously a freak event, I wouldn't have played a tactic of which I knew it would lead to defeat and that's also why no tactic was changed: I literally did not find another tactics preset that even gave us a fighting chance, even a slight change, moving up the defensive line or changing to short passes, would have led to a catastrophic defeat. I blame the Sand Curse because their only shots in the 1st half both went in. And I obviously blame myself because I found no way to combat this. Next time around, all of our players will have max weight as well, this seems like a huge oversight and a setting with no drawbacks which is seen by the fact that the weight of the players mirrors the strength of any given team across all 48 teams.
Yeah, I'm obviously still new at the game, still learning, and ended up building shit players again.
