I wouldnt recommend putting on or upgrading regular gear that hasn't got at least 2 extra stats, so higher than basic or rare. Otherwise you'll be wasting money removing them later.
Make sure to collect all the starting gifts, and enter the referral code in the settings RONDATWITCH . Swap out any 2 start or lower character for one with higher number of stars, lvl is not important, theyre just better.
Dont use multibattle points until you're close to lvl 18 or so. Just use regular autobattle.
Playing on Manual can get you through rounds autobattle cannot, since it plays like a retard and wastes AOE's and Buffs on last enemies just before going into the next round that removes all buffs but leaves skill cooldowns. But thats also more relevant for lvl 15+
