Played footsie under a blanket on the super comfy couch, shared food and teased each other way too much to the point the less clueless ones noticed something was up. But then Kronii chumped out, maybe along with giving herself excuses like “I can’t risk messing up our careers” or “I just got my own place, I can’t rush into a relationship now” to let herself take the safe road and protect her fragile, wounded heart. Or maybe she tried to pursue it further, sending tons of awkward, cute messages, but only gets back one of two rushed replies a day (which will drop to 0 if she keeps it up). Mumei is the only one who really sees what’s going on because birb brain can’t count higher than her fingers and toes, but she can see how complex, broken hearts work. She is slightly sad about it, but knows that’s life and says nothing as Kronii stands in a shadow, facing away from the sun to check her phone over and over for the replies that aren’t coming.
