7 in the first and third column. 17 in the middle column.
We can see right off the bat that some bots are repeating images, easily seen with two bots in the second row first column. But it's harder to see with front facing bots, like last two rows in the third column look the same, but have a small difference.
There are at least 7 different types of bots, so at least 7 different letters/symbols. I'm also confused with horizontal bots: are these two stacked bots the same as singular ones in other columns?
I think it's a japanese vertical text hidden in this image.
