Sonny uses Uki for comfort, who enjoys it and is unconsciously doing the same since Fulgur's grown ever more distant. When Alban comes begging for Sonny back, he caves since it's Alban, y'know? But after a night of rough sex that proves to be cathartic for Sonny, he realizes this isn't what he wants. He always knew that Alban made jokes about fucking other people, but for him to actually go through with it was a bigger betrayal than Sonny could ever accept. The trust was broken, so he leaves and doesn't look back.
There's a whole side to Uki's situation that I'm also thinking of, particularly with how Uki didn't actually want an open relationship but gave in anyway because that was what Fulgur wanted. There's a whole aspect of angsty masked self hate on his part that I have the seeds for but am not sure how to work in.
The tldr is what happened in the OW2 collab: they end up getting together and living a tranquil but content life. I could work ABO into it too but hmmm, I'll stew over it some more.
