Otsonny!! Ahh I could have kept thread alive if I hadn't fell asleep after stream... oh well. Episode 7 of botw, at last the beasts are done and we can spend some time dawdling before taking on the real evil. As expected, sonny was in... considerably better spirits today compared to the previous evening which was good to see. It was a fun time! His main objective was getting enough spirit orbs to obtain the master sword, which he would get, but not before hours of mucking around of course. After first wrapping up a couple loose ends in rito village and kakariko (leave that poor girl paya alone, goodness), it was off to work on map discovery and hopefully find some shrines in the process. He just loves the combat in this game so damn much... if there's a camp, he's taking it out, even if that means losing most of his gear on some trash mobs, which would happen a couple times today. He ventured into the mountains, where he finally unlocked hebra tower, which was pretty easy with revali's gale. I believe he only has a few left now! More fights, more shrines, we got a physics lesson, I guess this generally wasn't the most exceptional stream but it was a fun one, the downtime while traveling is a good opportunity for zatsu so he was pretty chatty at times as well. At some point our hero had to take a detour and head to the bar to try and get his hands on a drink for a collapsed gerudo out in the desert... bitch was blocking the shrine! This was a funny little delivery mission to bring ice for the drink, luckily stasis made quick work of the rapidly-melting block. Our collapsed alcoholic friend was on her way as soon as she heard that her favorite cocktail was waiting for her back home, and at last we could enter the shrine. Later on he'd spend some more time in the mountains smashing ore, and we'd also find out that even the guardian stalkers were a walk in the park with some ancient weapons and good parry timing. The latter took a couple tries, he learned to save soon enough. Dinner today was another borgir... love mgmg time but it causes me immense suffering when I'm watching at degen hours and cannot have fast food of my own. Glad he left us to witness his big beautiful face front and center while he was reheating his fries, blessed by like half an hour of sonny on the big screen. After a brief discussion about linguistics while he finished up the last of his food, it was back to hunting. I feel like he's spending a lot of time on the fringe of Hyrule field but still hasn't quite ventured much into that region of the map. I'd ask if he knows that the hylian shield is in the castle but he'll get there when he gets there, it's such an expansive game that I can't fault him for not knowing in a week what it took me a month to figure out. He also went back home to hateno real quick to display some of his hard-earned "trophies." At last, about 7.5 hours in, after offering his orbs up to the statue for pondering he went back to korok forest and finally was able to wield the sword of legend. Congrats! Another thing off the bucket list. His inventory is so full of "special" weapons he never wants to use that I think he'll really appreciate having something less... expendable. He didn't have much time to test it out though, as he ventured out and discovered eventide island purely by accident. He wanted it to be an 8hr stream but I'm glad this place gave us one more, it was kind of cute how he lit up once he realized what kind of challenge it was. Stripped of all his things, relying on tree branches to fight just like he was only two weeks prior. ...until he recovered some stuff at least, and he pretty quickly scavenged a few weapons from the chests scattered around. Over the last hour, he recovered the orbs from monsters around the island to return them to their pedestals. Even the hinox actually was pretty doable now that he's got more combat experience (despite the thunderstorm), though he did put aside his bow prejudice for this quest. After some shenanigans in an attempt to preserve the materials he'd gathered during his stay, he went back and put the final orb in... only to find the boat he tried to store them on had reset. Was worth a shot. The final shrine was a little bit anticlimactic, just a gold rupee for his trouble, but I think the experience was worth it. Even with that asshole bird he met right after. I hope to also be invited to island de brisko someday! Good stream, it was a somewhat productive day and there's still plenty left to do in hyrule. I look forward to another endurance stream where we look for more memories, discover more of the map, and maybe even beat Ganon. I kind of hope he does the DLC before moving on to TotK since I think he'll really like it after how much he enjoyed eventide, but we'll see. Thanks for the fun stream sonny! Sleep well, enjoy your rest day, and see you on Friday for VA practice (which it seems he does have more of a plan for, but may be taking requests as well)! o7
