>>55401707> that being Niji's own actions and structureThe old quote "if a tree fell in a forest with no one around to hear it, did it really fall at all?" applies here.
Niji yabs, rrats etc. would not cause them ANY problems if no one in the public even knew about them. Hell there's TONS of things that Nijis have done that the greater VTuber fandom doesn't know about (Raito, Yumeoi catfishing, the nippleman yab, Luca's holo copyright arc etc.) but these things spread around over time, reaching the underground consciousness of the fanbase across various non-linked communities, all centred around /vt/. There's a ton of stuff that /vt/ doesn't forget, and will continue reminding people about whenever the context or occasion calls for it.
But I'd argue Nijisanji's attempt to strike dramatubers like False and Khyo down was the thing that did FAR more long term damage to their reputation.
False used to be a niji shill remember? He didn't even used to report niji yabs that this thread considered significant, like that Luca copyright yab.
But once they got struck, there was nothing stopping them from digging up literally everything Anycolor was trying to bury - even in fucking NijiJP kek - and then exposing it for all the world to see. These channels allow a sort of "mainstream" level of shitting on Niji, because the drama peddlers get almost infinite amounts of content from Niji officially.
Their reputation got so fucked that Gundou's firing - which was seen as a neutral or positive thing thanks to all the drama she created - has been painted in a negative light in the west. Because OBVIOUSLY the niji talents wouldn't be bad, it's the company that's at fault.
That reputation has stuck, and it won't be going away any time soon. And even if the dramatubers stop shitting on them (and what incentive do they have to NOT do that?) /vt/ will not forget.
