In Japan things are very corporation sided. They can crush you with debt and you would have to declare bankrupt, basically blacklisting yourself from future work anywhere.
These contracts are extemely predatory and even I know some people who would cave if they are so stupid to find themselves in this situation.
I'm not forgiving them, let's be clear. I'm saying that the only way to get some semblance of truth is getting out first, but some may decide to use the Graduation system, like they did, and that can take months.
Some people may be trapped in that very system right now and forced to jump on command. That's why out first is the order of things.
