I just found out that there was an AI vtuber that predates Neuro-sama by more than a year (though admittedly she started out as a simplistic PNGtuber and only got a fully animated model about 2 years after her debut).

Xiaoice, the chatbot developed by Microsoft for Chinese social media back in 2014 that was the basis for the infamous Tay and Zo chatbots on Twitter and Facebook.
In other words, she's the first corpo ai vtuber.
