I've read somewhere that dreams are brain's way to "practice" acting in situations that it thinks can happen to you in real life. That's why we sometimes have dreams about things that you expect to happen that day, or even things that you don't consciously expect but they do anyway. Maybe the feeling of "deja vu" can be partially explained by that.
