Update to the story over the last few days:
I had recess duty today and my old student saw me and ran over, then went
>Did you bring me a pebble today??
And I realized that when she said, "I want a pebble like that," she meant that as like, she expected me to give her a pebble.
I ended up getting a drawing done during part of the class where the students were playing, and gave it to her during the wait for the bus, but she was still a little disappointed and asked if I could get her a "real, 3D pebble, too." So I'll be on the hook for that sometime next week apparently, or else she'll be really sad (and honestly that girl deserves some happiness, she was a great student struggling with a bit of the high-functioning 'tism, I don't want to disappoint her).
But I did also write Biboo's name down on the paper if she ever wanted to watch her at home. She immediately responded by seeing the name and going
>"Oh my God! I love her! And this (points to Biboo's name) is my new nickname now! Right, Mr. Anon?"
I tried to convince her otherwise but she was at least still saying it when I loaded her on the bus.
