a.) it's h*r and she's trying stupidly hard to overcompensate with kayfabe after being an utter moron leaving up the worst shit possible to rile up people right into debut day. this has left her swinging wildly in all kinds of (mis)directions in developing her char, and she doesn't know if it's working, who in her audience to aim to please or which directions to walk in.
b.) it's some way more oddly complicated person who is an actual chameleon and literally everything is a foil of some kind. nobody really knows what she's like, fucking lex luthor AND the Joker in one. a smart person and good actor can easily put on a dumb act but not the other way around.
