It has colored text like a VN for no particular reason. The tone and the nested fictional story within the edgier "real world" story is very pretentious though. The narrator's/framing story is kinda edgy and overly trippy, but the main plot with the House is great, like a full novel length version of that wallpaper short story Hime read on stream. Pretty good, would recommend. They don't overexplain the plot and leave a lot to the imagination, so the writing is pretty good.
The genre is like a found footage movie thing that's either psychological or a (good) SCP story depending on how you look at it. That's not quite how it's framed in the story, but it has a similar feeling and plays out similarly. Also very similar to that Japanese found footage movie Hime did for a watchalong. Really, it's a book for Hime.
