>>59511965 is why you have so many historical emigrations that lead to things like Korea, Japan, and the presence of different Chinese groups around SEA like the Chinese Malaysians, Singaporeans, etc. I think the emphasis on being “The Middle Kingdom” and the Mandate of Heaven meant it was a very internalized interest for the dynasties it changed hands between. China’s also fascinating, not a big fan of the current government but not a big fan of most current governments around the world really.
