>>26684996Nah, they just don't know. Our expected date of return is some decades into the future, hell, it took almost 20 years just to get here! And we are far outside the reach of any even half stable communications, we basically went dark. Such is the life when you are on the frontier!
And if Cass ever decides that she does in fact want to create an artificial one, she has all the tools for that. Well, the genetic ones at least. Those seem to have thankfully survived. The problem comes with the mechanical parts, and as I said, those are at least 500 years into the future, if not more.
But to save us all a headache, she won't attempt that, as by that point we will both be a stable country here (hopefully) and had our meeting with the search vessel, which would have probably gone well. Hell, Vitubia might even get official recognition and be entered into the galactic federation we lead, depending on it's development level, so a return to space isn't really necessary. Oh, and a more pressing problem she has to consider might be the event DRT-3205 where an Artificial somehow woke up and...well, let's just say that we still deeply regret the loss of that planet. They had the most amazing chocolate.
