That post has more engagement than just spamming her link and it targets a specific community, tell them you're part of them (okay maybe it would have been better if it wasn't a post saying she's quitting the game, but you get it).
Another example was me arguing with autists on the internet about Malenia so I sent a clip of me beating her hitless with my socials in the corner so they can check me out if they want.
I also used to make video guides about beating end-game dungeons for a specific game and I would post them whenever someone asked for advice. Self-promotion shouldn't just be about spamming your link at every opportunity, you need to give people a reason to look you up.
