Ratting is a viable strategy, just not something that you want to do unless you really live to rat. Locking down a nice place with barrels and hiding in corners might cause the other team to think that the Caustic team has moved on but if they decide to stay, you've already lost your advantage since they'll be shooting out the barrels.
