Sup Nerissa, when is your irl birthday? Are you happy where it landed? I ask because I was thinking about birthdays in particular Birthdays close to Christmas. I know a few people whose birthday lands in late December and they are all perma bitter because their birthday presents just get lumped together with their Christmas presents. Its a minor silly nitpick but they dont fail to mention it every year.
>childrenWith regards to the above, I was mainly thinking about my future children. Should my wife and I preplan so that our children's birthdays dont land in late December? What do you think? Is this something you agree with? Initially I thought about it, but then I decided against preplanning something like that. Whenever God decides my children will be born, thats the best day they could be born. Do you agree with that?
>saints dayIn certain countries and cultures, mainly the Eastern Orthodox countries (Eastern Orthodox are valid Christians btw while pr*ts are not) instead of celebrating the day they were born, they celebrate the feast day of the saint they were named after. For example if a girl named Lucia were born in march she would instead celebrate December 13 which is the feast day of St Lucia, as her "birthday" analogous party. Would you be willing to do this for your children? I know a few eastern european descendant people that celebrate their saint day like that, here, so its not as out of place as you'd expect. Perhaps that solves the birthday landing in late December (non) issue. What do you think?
>saints day 2Back in medievel times everyone celebrated their saint day as their "birthday". Celebrating ones birthday only became popularized when secular culture began to take hold, in an effort to remove the church from our everyday life. Are you named after a saint? Would you celebrate your saints day? I dont think I share a name with any saint, ive honestly never looked it up but im going to guess no.
>saintsWhile im on the topic of saints, do you have any saints you have a great devotion to? If you dont, you should. Pick a saint you can relate to or one that has patronage over something in your life. For example St Cecilia has patronage over musicians. If you cant decide, pray and ask God to reveal to you a saint especially meant just for you. Ive never looked up any saints and never will because when I first became religious, I got shown two saints while doing something completely unrelated to anything religious. I took it as a sign from God that He wanted me to have a great devotion to them, so I do. I have a crazy story about them but thats for another time.
>Christmas giftsDid you buy yourself anything for Christmas? One of my cousins bought herself plastic surgery as a Christmas gift. Everyone told her no, shes objectively pretty why is she doing that. But she got it anyway. Dont ever get plastic surgery Nerissa, you're beautiful so dont destroy your natural beauty. Plastic surgery never ends up working out, one of the reasons I hate social media is that it gives everyone body dysmorphia. Filters and photoshop arent real. Dont get body dysmorphia Nerissa, your husband loves you exactly how you are. Even as you age gracefully into your elder years together he will still love you no matter how you look. Get well soon! Vitamin C and D and fresh air!
