And again, my point is not that the homos are profitable, it's that they have a place in a market that cover doesn't want to lose. It's a gamble, but a very cheap and affordable one for them. As I said, they could very well turn a tiny bit of a profit sometimes or just stay within acceptable margins every month. It's cheap af to maintain a vtuber once you have their models in place and a contract with the talent.

The Homos are just a cheap side gamble to safeguard an unttaped piece of the market that could have very favorable winds if things turn out good for them. Don't forget that Hololive itself was a gamble at the start, and then they got lucky. It's not a 1:1 parallel as back then though, but now they just have to piss some money on them once in a while just to keep building rapport with the public as better as they can, even if they lose money on it.
