Back when I got into Hardstyle it was unironicaly 70% people who also liked fantasy novels anime and chemistry.
I've once seen it described as "the intersection between nerd and punk".
I suspect that's why Bae herself got into it too. Lots of these types of music derive from shit that used to be played during the early days of LoL, which is why Nightcore for example basically always has anime pics on it.
