A bit of awkwardness, some embarassment, even if the call does go bad, those feelings are only temporary, and you won't even remember them in a few months time, and the person you're calling on the phone definately won't remember. Also remember the last time you made a call, it wasn't that bad, it was probably easier than expected. I say this as a person who would rather shove a handful of huntsman spiders into my mouth than make a simple phone call. But no one else is going to do it for me.
