Desu I don't disagree and had the same thought about the coastlines and glacier lakes, but I don't know how annoying it would be to tune the generation to not have those problems, and the alternative is drawing your own damn world elevation map which is a lot of work.
If I took a stab at it I don't think those lakes are analogous to the Great Lakes though, they're way bigger than that. I would guess they're more like the late stages of the Western Interior Seaway (
