Fauna didn't go to Japan for last FES. Everyone signed their standees except for Fauna (and Shion) who had printouts of her signature glued to all her standees. (pic related) She's also the only EN member who none of the JPs and ENs mentioned during their stories about FES recordings.
Same shit happened with breaking dimensions, she wasn't there for recordings or in new york. Absolutely nobody mentioned meeting her.
She's likely been skinwalked for all her #D appearances after her 3D debut.
So yes, Kiara is right about it not being mandatory.

Nobody mentioned meeting her during recordings for splash party, holofes and breaking dimensions either. While everyone else got mentioned. It's safe to assume she was skinwalked for every event after her 3D live.

It's speculation but it's a fact she hasn't been in Japan since recording for her 3D debut.
She's the one of 2 holos that wasn't there for holofes (pic related) which includes the holostars, nobody talked about meeting her during splash party/holofes/breaking dimensions recordings, and she wasn't there for breaking dimensions (which is new york but still, she refuses to travel). All her performances since have been skinwalked.
