>>107661248Because they don't fucking understand it. They never will. People will go on and on about "agendas" and "wokeness" but at the end of the day, all corporate executives are the same. They want to make more money and the way to do that is to "expand the audience". Star Wars was popular among nerds but when Disney bought it, there was that whole push for "The Force is Female" because women weren't big Star Wars fans and that's money that's being left on the table. Halo was only popular among young male gamers, so they literally brought in people who "hated Halo" to write the new Halo games because they want to get the people who don't already like Halo. And Hololive caters mostly to lonely young men, but that means you don't get the money from couples and women.
Almost every accusation of "woke agenda" can also be easily and simply explained by greedy execs who have to get a bigger number every year and listen to consultants on how to change a good thing because they don't think it will push away the core audience, even though it does every single time. Disney is the biggest example, imagine telling people 20 years ago that a brand that owned Star Wars and Marvel had trouble attracting a young male audience. They went all out to get black, gay, female, whatevers, and you can say it was agenda pushing but it's really dumb greed.
Or put simply, it's the fable of the dog (heh) with a bone in his mouth. He sees his reflection in the river of a dog with a bone, opens his mouth to grab the bone he sees, and loses the bone he has.
