Avatar - an animated representation (doesn't have to be accurate or humanoid) of the persona.
If I am Joe and stream as Joe with an animated Avatar, that is Joe in animated form. Even if Joe uses a Beholder as an Avatar, we know that this is Joe.
If I am Joe, but stream as Jobs, then Jobs is a Virtual persona that doesn't exist in the real world. We are aware that Jobs is fictional and does not represent Joe.
Of course you can always find something to make things more complicated, but that's the general gist of it.
